Thornham is a small coastal village that is punching above its weight in terms of attractions. Thornham Deli is fast gaining a reputation as a great supporter of local food producers and growers and the dishes turned out by the chef and her team are garnering plaudits. The Deli also stocks a wide range of home, kitchen and garden-ware, much of it designed and made by local craftspeople. Visitors can also stock up on the Thornham Deli range of candles, soaps, oils and other household decorations.
Just a short walk along the grassy path and you will find the small shopping area at Drove Orchard. Here you will find an array of shops including, a designer Scandinavian clothes shop, a farm shop specialising in home grown fruit and vegetables, Gurney’s fishmongers and Eric’s Fish and Chip shop.
Walkers and bird watchers will love the boardwalk down to the sea-side. Thornham beach is one of the prettiest along the north Norfolk coast and it encompasses so much: a delightful old barn and tiny harbour, pine forests, dunes, a nature reserve and a lovely open beach.
There are also three pubs in the village – the Lifeboat, the Chequers and the Orange Tree – all serving great food. And for entertainment, the highly acclaimed village hall (adjacent to the Deli) has a range of activities, including a popular cinema, a farmers market and a variety of fitness classes.
